Title: PhantomSDR v.3.0.0
Post by: Emmanuel SV1BTL on Mar 29, 2026, 07:38 PM
PhantomSDR v.3.0.0 is uploaded. Please refer to https://github.com/sv1btl/PhantomSDR-Plus (https://github.com/sv1btl/PhantomSDR-Plus)

Why v.3.0.0:

Until now every new update was based on the initial version. But after a long journey everything has changed so much, so now we are far away from this initial version.
Version 2.0.0 was a little break, that lasted only 6 months, without any updates, with less encashments than the previous 1.5.4 version and with the prompt "take it or leave it".
NovaSDR is a total new approach in development.
So, version named 3.0.0 indicated a bright new product, based on the previous versions, but with a total new experience for admins and End Users.

Changes are:

A total cleaning of any bugs left from the previous versions. Beta testers are kindly requested to use the newer .svelte files

---------------

The following files must be replaced into your server and recompile only Frontend (without restarting). This is valid for admins coming from the precious v.1.7.1. For the rest, a clean install is recommended.

P.S. This is the final release of the v.3.0.0. It is not known when a massive upgrade will be done in the near future. Minor changes to these files will be done when it is needed, and they will be announced here.
I have to thank the beta testers Darko (9A7AOF) and Eric (F1NSK), who helped me a lot during the last 6 months.

The first update is on its way. I found a way to synchronize smeter with audio out. Now testing and I'll re-upload the repo again, so don't update yet until late night. From tomorrow the new files will be in the github.

OK, it is done. Only audio.js is fixed, so analog and digital s-meters to be synchronized with audio out.

Download, replace and compile. The file is updated also in github.

Quotewith a second frequency bar at the top of the waterfall
This does not work when we select digital S meter.
Please fix this if possible.

Thanks!

I would like to mention that when a Decoder is used, it would be better first to switch it off clicking "Decoder" button, and then re-click the Decoder again to select another decoding mode. Although the switching between modes take place automatically, I think it would be better if we switch off the previous used decoder.

CW decoder is always trying to trace WPM before decoding. Sometimes it reads fake WPM because of QRM, and then cannot function well. Switching the CW decoder off and again on, will resolve this issue. I also think that using filters and NR will help CW decoding in many cases, but not always. I remind you that the only decoder that uses filters is CW - all others bypass them, using raw audio, so to minimize decoding issues.

One last question to all of you. Are there any radioamateurs in your country or area, that transmitting FreeDV/RADE (digital voice in HF using RADE V1 protocol)?

Hello Emmanuel

In France very few freeDV users.

A lot of Om's work to optimise analogic modulation or pure signal with SDR.

It's more fun and sometimes as good as broadcast.

Some Oldtimers use AM on 3600khz with old tubes TX. A pure delight !  ;D

OK Eric. Here in Greece, there are too many who they use FreeDV RADE V1 mode. After a hard try, I've already implemented the mode into my server, which is working very well! Now we are hard testing it.

FreeDV is passed all tests. Do you want me to update, or you prefer to stay for a while in the recent version? I have also updated the mobile version, so to include all the decoders.

UPDATE: CATsync (https://catsyncsdr.wordpress.com/) is now also included. Using this Software, you can synchronize PhantomSDR-Plus with your transceiver and interactively change frequency from transceiver to PhantomSDR-Plus and vive-versa. You can test it in my server http://phantomsdr.no-ip.org:8900/ (http://phantomsdr.no-ip.org:8900/).
