Good morning everyone, SV1BTL here.
Darko, 9A7AOF, came up with an excellent idea: install the entire application with a single command. And that is now a reality.
From now on, everything can be installed with just one command. Manual configuration is only required for server-specific customization, exactly as before.
A completely new feature has also been implemented: PC over-temperature protection. Since the Admin Panel already monitors CPU temperature, the server can now automatically shut down if the CPU temperature exceeds the configured safety threshold. The system will remain offline until the computer has cooled down sufficiently, after which the server will automatically restart once normal thermal conditions have been restored.
The use of Admin Panel is now strongly recommended. Several of the latest features, as well as previously implemented functions such as FT8, FT4, and WSPR spotting, can now be controlled directly from the Admin Panel.
It is also recommended to install the Admin Panel as a systemd service, and the new `install.sh` now provides this option automatically.
Another major update concerns the documentation. In addition to updating all existing documentation files, a complete PDF manual has now been added for each supported language. Each manual is approximately 200 pages long and covers virtually everything related to server installation, operation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, together with a dedicated End-User Guide.

At this point, I believe PhantomSDR+ has reached a very mature stage, and there are probably only limited improvements that can still be made — unless, of course, one of you comes up with another sufficiently "revolutionary" idea.
I know that the most difficult part of this new release is the requirement for a clean installation. I am sure that many of you may not feel like doing this immediately, but I strongly recommend it.
Before performing the clean installation, please remember to create a backup of your existing installation, especially the server-specific configuration files, such as:
* the `.toml` configuration files
* `markers.json`
* `/frontend/site_information.json`
* `/frontend/src/bands-config.js`
For those using the RX-888 MKII, I also strongly recommend using the new scripts:
`~/PhantomSDR-Plus/start-rx888mk2.sh` and `~/PhantomSDR-Plus/stop-websdr.sh`
These scripts now include automatic RADE handling as well as logging of all relevant operational information. These logs can then be viewed directly from the Admin Panel.
PhantomSDR+ v.3.7.0 has been tested extensively by Darko on several different PCs, and the various issues encountered during testing have been successfully identified and resolved.
The corresponding installation scripts have also been tested in virtual environments on:
* Fedora
* Arch Linux
* openSUSE
* Raspberry Pi OS (Trixie)
Good luck with the installation, and please do not hesitate to report any problems you encounter.

Maybe you should try running it with an older version of the script.
I had it installed on three different servers, two Ubuntu 24.0.4 and one Debian 13 (Trixie).
Compiling and running flawlessly.

Well dear Eric.
The problem in Ubuntu 22 is the RADE install that its python has to meet the older Ubuntu 22 criteria.
Now is fixed, with a new dedicated installer, named install_ubuntu22.sh. The repo is updated again from scratch, and the documentation too, so you can make a new try.
The installer is tested on a virtual environment and succeeded, so let us try it to a live instance of Ubuntu 22.
Once again, I've tested all the other installers in various Linux distro's, all of them in virtual environment. All ok!
So Eric, please make another try.
P.S. Yes, it is old, but maybe are sysops out there who wish to stay in Ubuntu 22, so it worths to fix it.

Yes, try Ubuntu 26.04. I am not absolutely sure that it will be installed there, but it worths to make a try, so to fix this also, if something is wrong!! 8)
P.S. My virtual installer said that installation in Ubuntu 26.04 succeeded. Time to see it live!

What a pity! Reinstall it without OpenCL and try to find an older compatible OpenCL instance here: https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime/releases (https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime/releases)

Not a problem on my side
My "official" phantom run on 3.6.0 and will stick on this release.
3.6.0 and ubuntu 22.04 are very stable and run perfectly on the old core I7 8 thread CPU at low temp
My dev computer for test is an old core I3.
2.7.0 don't run on this computer. (test made on ubuntu 24 & 26 and debian trixie)
On an other side FobosSDR run now on phanthom. (A hard job !)
The HF is limited to 25 Mhz. RX888 work better
On VHF the results are fine but the GUI need a lot of mods...
I make it slowly for the fun.

An other little bug.
The recent releases of Linux like 26.04 or Trixie don't know the command "git" (fresh install)
Before install you must run "sudo apt install git" in a terminal.

So, you have installed v.3.7.0 to Ubuntu 26.04? And everything was completed without errors? I am asking because I've only installed in a virtual environment (Podman container - https://podman.io/ (https://podman.io/)) but never on a live Ubuntu 26.04 distro.
I will try today 3.7.0 on Kubuntu 26.04. Only for test because it's my working computer ! ;D
Compilation fails on Ubuntu 26.04
The issue come from Boost:
Ubuntu 26.04 (« resolute ») embarque Boost 1.90. Or Boost a définitivement supprimé boost::asio::io_service (obsolète depuis Boost 1.66, retiré pour de bon à partir de Boost 1.87, sorti en décembre 2024). La copie de websocketpp 0.8.2 que PhantomSDR-Plus embarque comme sous-projet Meson (subprojects/websocketpp-0.8.2) date d'avant ce changement et utilise encore io_service, strand, resolver::query/iterator, expires_from_now(), get_io_service(), etc. — toutes ces API n'existent plus dans Boost.Asio moderne. C'est exactement ce que montrent toutes tes erreurs (io_service does not name a type, strand_ptr does not name a type...).
Please Eric try this, AI found a way, tested with Podman, time to test it in live:
Three things proven:
1. Every package name in install_ubuntu26.sh exists on 26.04 — apt installed them all.
2. With the patched headers → the backend compiles. Clean build.
3. Without them → 554 errors, exactly the ones the sysop sent (io_service, strand_ptr, max_connections). And the new check in the script stops with a clear
message before the compiler ever runs.
So: 26.04 is fine, Boost 1.90 is fine. The sysop's build failed only because the five patched headers were never copied into the subproject.
One thing still running: the full ./install_ubuntu26.sh from top to bottom (Node, npm, frontend builds — takes a while). That tests the rest of the
installer, not the Boost problem. The Boost problem is already answered. I'll tell you where that run lands.
The full run finished. The installer works on real Ubuntu 26.04.
It ran top to bottom and did everything, in order:
✅ Detected: Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute)
✅ Prerequisites installed
✅ Node.js v22.23.2 and npm 10.9.8 installed
✅ Patched websocketpp headers present in the source tree
✅ System packages installed
Opus ✅ FLAC++ ✅ liquid-dsp ✅
✅ websocketpp headers patched and verified (5 files)
✅ Backend compiled: /home/sdr/PhantomSDR-Plus/build/spectrumserver

Run 2 is finished.
It got much further, all green:
✅ Detected: Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute)
✅ Prerequisites installed
✅ Node.js v22.23.2 / npm 10.9.8
✅ Patched websocketpp headers present in the source tree
✅ System packages installed (Opus ✅ FLAC++ ✅ liquid-dsp ✅)
✅ websocketpp headers patched and verified (5 files)
✅ Backend compiled: build/spectrumserver
✅ Site information saved
✅ npm dependencies installed
✅ autorun/node_modules linked to frontend/node_modules
✅ All frontend versions built (desktop + mobile, title fix applied)
✅ OpenCL packages installed → ✅ OpenCL device(s) detected
So on real Ubuntu 26.04: backend, frontend, and OpenCL all complete.
If your installation will be done with the newer file and the server will run, then I'll include the file into the repo.

❌ The backend did not compile.
If the errors above mention io_service, strand_ptr, resolver::query,
max_connections or expires_from_now, the websocketpp patch was not
in place — those APIs no longer exist in Boost 1.90. Check:
grep -c io_context \
