Title: PhantomSDR-Plus native TCI CAT
Post by: F1NSK on Sep 14, 2026, 04:27 PM
I open a new Topic to to avoid Perturbations to Desktop PhantomSDR .. ;D

If somebody want try TCI Catsync....

Put the file catsync.js in /frontend/src/lib
Save your app.svelte and put this new one in frontend/src/
Recompile frontend and restart the server

No issues between TCI Catsync and Desktop Phantom SDR !

Phantom TCI listen to ports 5001 and 4001 (the most common) and automaticaly choose the first valid.

If someone can test with SunSDR...

Tested OK with :

AetherSDR 26.9.2 both Linux and Win platform

Thetis for Hermes lite II on win Platform.

NereusSDR 0.5.2 for Hermes Lite II on linux platform

IMPORTANT : TCI server must be active on Your Rig software!

If you run Phantom on the same PC as your Rig Software choose Host as localhost
If you run Phantom on a different PC choose host as the URL of the Rig PC 192.168.1.xx
The two PC must be on the same Network

OK Eric, I'll see the files, but please explain me! Are all these for all transceivers or only for Hermes, FexRadio, or which?
I also suppose that is usable only for PhantomSDR+ end users, isn't it?
I am not sure I understood what this new function is for.

Hi Emmanuel

All New SDR softwares uses TCI protocol to communicate with other devices and softwares as logs, decoders etc..

Some SDR software can manage a large variety of Transceiver.

Aether for exemple manage, Flex, Hermes, Icom 9300Mk2.7610 , 9700,705 ....

Create a TCI bridge in Phantom offers the opportunity to work with these new softwares as client .

With a simple TCI link I can let run my phantom as a band survey , shut the audio when my TX is On, synchronise QRG betwenn TX and Phantom....I look to import audio of a Flex in Phantom via TCI. :D

The first goal was to auto shut Phantom audio during TX and I've added more fonctions for the fun.

In fact for me the bridge become very useful and i can let run phantom all day long

Implemented it, it was not just only two files, please test it and tell me the results.

Hi Emmanuel

TCI work perfect between your Phantom and my Aether !  ;D
Other test positive with Thetis on Windows ( still a Win computer under the dust ... ;D  ;D )

The button and sub-menu is a good idea.

The name of the switch should be "QRG Sync" or better "Phantom/Rig Sync"
TCI is always synchronised...
With the button you choose to sync Band, Mode and Frequency.
Phantom mute when the rig goes on TX...(independant of the switch position)

Very Useful in fact !
Now Aether Users can see very fast RX conditions between a local Waterfall and a remote Waterfall.
Not only Aether but all Rig softwares running TCI.

My own test are only with low distance antennas about 20 km.
Now I can match local and far view in one second !

A good companion to Desktop Phantom !

PS. DesktopPhantom Appimage dont work on Kubuntu 26.04.
No problem, the deb install and run fine

Appimage to work everywhere in newer Linux, you must install the appropriate package once, because newer Linux OS do not include fuse support:
CodeSelect
sudo apt install libfuse2t64     # Ubuntu 24.04 and later
sudo apt install libfuse2        # older Ubuntu/Debian releases

It is written in the https://www.websdr.fun/index.php?msg=1697, please read it.

--------------

I have tested the function in Linux AND Windows (with IC7300) with a success.
I have to mention that this was not only a 'two files replace' work Eric. Claude made much more work, so to be universal for all, and you'll see it in the newer version when it will be released, what is really added.
The transceiver (any transceiver) needs also a Hamlib to be downloaded, in Windows is needed NPM separate install, creating of dedicated folders for TCI bridge etc and at the end to run the TCI bridge command through a terminal window.
OK, it's done with a success, but I am not sure that an End-User will follow all these to connect his receiver with PhantomSDR+. Desktop applications do it much easier, with almost all transceivers ready.
After all, Good Work for all these who will wish to work this way. I have connected to your receiver too, and the function as it is written in my PhantomSDR+ instance (so as it is written in the future Github) is working from Windows AND Linux.
So, in the future please try to give me much more information about the plan, goal to achieve, something like a help file (you can ask it from Claude, because I think you use this AI platform), and even better the initial plan created by A.I. before starting to build anything. It would help me a lot, trying to make a universal (meaning for ALL) working instance.

P.S. I've changed the name of the button to 'QRG Sync', as you suggested.

First I've implemented twice Way in the websocket.
TCI and Hamlib.
When I've seen your job with Desktop Phantom, I've backgraded to only TCI.
Desktop Phantom don't speak TCI !  ;D  ;D

Now with our parallel job Phantom is able to sync a huge quantity of rigs, Analogic or SDR.

Only high Tech (and expansive) SDR have real twin and more RX receiver.

Running Phantom along side increase the capacity of simple Rigs.

Honestly, on my side, its for fun and customise Phantom, my Flex can handle up to 8 receivers...

But if I hate Windows, I'm in love with Phantom  8)

You make a fantastic job. Phantom work fine,is very well documented and easy to crack !  ;D  ;D  ;D

Now I'm working on a Phantom client for Blind people with vocal commands ....

P.S You use an IC7300 or the MkII version ? MkII work now with Aether...

Eric, the new implementation must also cover except the frequency change the mode and filter change as well. I have just finished it and worked with my IC7300.
The new implementation will work for ANY End User, if he has an access to a file, absolutely important so the terminal window to work with the proper command - all very well documented in the newer docs, where everything is described in detail. An ordinary End-User (meaning the user that uses the SDR for listening and to make a QSO) will not do this - there are simpler solutions for him, like Catsync or Desktop applications.

For blind people, there are special programs for them to read the whole GUI in the OS they work, and not only PhantomSDR GUI. I already know a blind radioamateur here in Greece, who is already using PhantomSDR without any problems, without any addon from our side, just his already used application which covers any activity in his OS. So, adding such a function it is just a waste of time. If you want to add it in your SDR, it is ok of course.

I repeat! The whole job is not a 'just copy and paste two files and compile'. The same I faced with AetherSDR too - We had (Claude and me) to work on it several hours, so to be universal.

I'll be ready to upload the new version 4.1.0 after a couple of hours. Documentation must be rewrite, translated and re-checked several times, before upload.

... P.S. Is now Appimage working after installing the fuse support?

Sorry, already installed via .deb package....

I like the concept
An easy way to select and remember good SDR's over the Web.
Just a remark : Some Very good Kiwi's need a password. It will be useful to memorise ..

I need a Serial/USB converter to make a rig test with my old FT1000MP. Waiting for one

For Info, the new release of Aether can use now WEB888 as antenna
I've made tests with yours. Amazing, work better than a Kiwi.

Well, if they use a password, maybe they don't wish to visit them, so we will not memorize them.  :)  :)
I've never understood these "password protected" WebSDR's, which are public. If they want privacy, then why do they allow to be shown on the map. A simple setting in their Admin Panel and they are gone for everyone, except their friends.
The same happens with some Perseus SDR's... they are 'public' but password protected!...

Thank you for the info about Aether SDR. I have already installed it and now working directly as WEB-888
