Title: SDRplay has problems.
Post by: Bas ON5HB on Oct 05, 2026, 04:24 PM
I have tested the SDRplay, but your settings are just 1 band.
While the SDRplay can easily do 10MHz spectrum, but about 9.5 usable because of the bandfilters.
When I set 10MHz in the fern.conf, it receives just fine, but won't go 0-10MHz but only starts at 800KHz.

Center 5000000, when I lower center to 4000000 then it does go lower but the spectrum becomes negative.

You have to rethink this for the SDRplay.

[band:hf-wide]
name = HF Spectrum
source = module
module = sdrplay
sample_rate = 8000000
center = 7500000
signal = iq
hours = always
 this works for me though.. using a rspi1a for this

This is true, about 95% of the spectrum is useable and currently only 80% is shown. I will adjust this. You can already do that with high and low parameters in the config but its to complicated. It should be 100% and adjustable to less. Otherwise its very confusing. I agree

Why not make an option for the SDRplay to configure the receiver/spectrum the way you want?
I mean:

Spectrum x/x/x/x/x/x/10Mhz
Centerfreq xMHz
then auto adjust the fall off's, like each side minus 250KHz (typical filter drop)
Or warn that it drops.
Then ask min/max freq to show.

I would expect 10MHz to do 0-9MHz, but start at 0 and stop at 9MHz, as such show the usefull spectrum not the rest.
And center should be 4.5MHz.

I like the idea. I will introduce such a editor in the admin panel in a later version

Should be fixed now, update the module please and also 0.1.2 is out. The editor will come in a later version its on my list
